Connected foundations

Ideas need more than
one kind of foundation.

  1. Brands

Clarify the proposition, position, name, and foundation.

  2. Digital Experiences

Shape useful customer-facing experiences around the idea.

  3. Tools & Systems

Build focused digital tools that support real work.

  4. Operating Foundations

Connect information, workflows, and systems so the idea can function.

An ordinary day in operations

  • How much of this do we actually have?
  • Why did we buy so much?
  • Did this get checked before the order?
  • How much have we used since the last order?
  • Why are we buying it here?
  • Is it time to buy again?
  • Which location still has it?

Questions lead to relevant information: fresh inventory checks, recent usage estimates and holdings across locations. A manager uses that context to review what to buy next.

Questions → Relevant information → Operational decisionConceptual example. People make the decision.

Selected work / Operational systems

Fusion HQ

Designed and developed by Data Fusion Company.

An operating system built around the realities of a multi-location food business.

The work began with a practical question: how can the business get useful information without asking people to count everything? Fusion HQ connects focused inventory checks, purchasing records and order preparation around the people doing the work.

  1. Check only what matters.

A broad inventory count on a dedicated iPad asked employees to check too much, often at the wrong moment for purchasing.

Fusion HQ gives employees focused Assignments on their own phones. They confirm the items that need fresh information, instead of working through the full inventory.

Ask for the smallest useful check, at the moment it matters.

  2. Order with current information.

A regular order date does not mean a regular week. A rush, a quiet day or a change in weather can change what the business needs.

Before a scheduled vendor order, a manager selects what needs checking and sends an employee Assignment. Fresh counts and estimated usage since the previous order then sit alongside order preparation. Where the evidence is incomplete, the estimate stays unavailable. The manager decides what to order.

Bring the check closer to the decision.

  3. Purchase before urgency decides for you.

Buying fruit directly is different from placing a scheduled order. Prices vary with the season and the source; freshness matters, and buying too much is not the answer.

Focused checks give the buyer earlier visibility into what is needed. That creates more room to consider timing, price and where to buy, before an urgent shortage narrows the choice.

Make room for a considered purchase.

  4. Let the system become complete over time.

A perfect opening inventory would have required the business to stop and account for everything it already held.

Instead, Fusion HQ began with inventory entering after a chosen starting point. Older stock is consumed, ages out or enters the records when purchased again. Coverage grows through ordinary work; older inventory is not discovered automatically.

Start usefully. Let daily work build the record.

From a receipt to a reasoned decision.

Source documents are preserved. AI helps interpret them, while that interpretation stays separate from the approved operational record. Uncertain information goes to human review. Approved purchases stay connected to vendor and item context, and purchasing history.

Questions worth building around

Fusion HQ is designed so questions like these have a place to be answered.

  • Why did we buy this much?
  • How much is left across the business?
  • Why did we buy it here?
  • Is it time to buy again?

Working today. Still developing.

Focused checks, connected purchasing history and manual order preparation are in use. They give people context for a decision; they do not make every decision for them.

Forecasting, richer price intelligence and further purchasing automation remain work ahead. The aim is to grow from useful records into better planning, without pretending those future capabilities are already here.
